How to Participate

In order for couples to participate, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Both you and your partner are 18 years or older and able to read, write, speak and understand either English or Spanish

Either you or partner have an address in the DMV area (DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia area)

You are in a committed relationship with your partner and agree to participate in workshops TOGETHER

Lastly, there is no severe and/or untreated mental illness or domestic violence present in the relationship; if you or your partner are looking for help in these areas of needs, please see the Resources page for other organizations that can better fit your more immediate needs

Call us at 1-877-432-1669 and one of our trained University of Maryland undergraduate interns will happily answer any questions you may have. They can also help you sign up for a workshop date and time of your choice on Eventbrite!

OR, if you’re ready to sign up now, that’s great! Head to our Workshops page to explore the available dates and times for a 6-week series. Click on the option that works best for you and your partner and the link will lead you directly to our Eventbrite page where you will fill out general demographic information like name, phone number, email address, and address.

A TOGETHER Program case manager will be in contact with you via phone call and email within one business day of when you sign up! Your case manager is your main point of contact in the program and is there to answer any of your additional questions about the workshops, explain the next steps, and help address any barriers you may be facing such as childcare, travel accommodations, Wifi access, etc.

After speaking with your case manager on the phone, you can expect an email with a link to complete a Consent Form and a short Safety Screening. The form is designed to ensure that your privacy is protected during the workshop series and the screening/questionnaire’s purpose is to ensure that you feel comfortable participating in a workshop series that will address topics like stress management and financial management.

This email with the link to the consent form and screening will also include the link and password to watch the Consent Form Video, which can further guide you through all the program procedures.

Finally, after both you and your partner sign your respective consent forms and complete your individual screenings, your case manager will provide you with “everything you need” to attend your first workshop. This includes the Zoom information or directions to your workshop location, and your workshop materials! After enrolling at Session 1, you will also have access to both the TOGETHER web app and mobile app. Click sign in at the top right hand corner of this website to access these.
